Tour description: Paddle Indian Arm with Takaya Tours is a gateway into the past in this culturally rich area.
Experience the Tsleil-Waututh Nations traditional villages and pictographs along this beautiful rocky shoreline. Enjoy listening to our experienced First Nation guides as they tell the rich history of our ancestors. Learn our legends and hear us drum and sing traditional songs.
As we paddle you can also expect to see vibrant sea stars, crabs & other sea creatures like sea otters and harbour seals.
Camping locations: Twin Island and Granite Falls.

Time: Day 1: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
10am Meet at Cates Park (North Vancouver) or Blelcarra Regional Park (Port Moody)
• Meet at the covered picnic tables by the dock
10:15am Traditional Welcoming
10:20 am Boat Safety Instruction
11:15 am Paddle to different areas up Indian Arm, Village sites, pictographs, etc.
4:00 pm Arrive at camping location
Day 2: paddle up to traditional fishing village or see pictographs, or go a traditional plant walk
Day 3: Begin to paddle back to starting location and see more pictographs.

Payment Terms and Policies:

  • Takaya Tours requires bookings to be 2 weeks in advance with a credit card number or 50% deposit to guarantee reservation date
  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, cheques and cash
  • If tour is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, 50% of total bill will be charged
  • Tours will proceed rain of shine, and will only be cancelled if Takaya Tours deems that the conditions are unsafe
  • All participants are required to sign medical and liability release form before activities
